As I get them typed up, I will post all my writings here. These go as far back as primary school to year 12. You will need Microsoft Word to view these files. Click on the title to open up the file (in doc format). You may choose to open or save the document. I've kept all editing to a minimum, just to keep the original state of all my writings (no matter how badly written!).
01. Narrative
Written: Estimated Year 6, 1998 (aged 12)
Grade: Ungraded
About: Not 100% sure when I wrote this, but pretty sure it was year 6 of primary school. I wrote this based on my real-life group of friends at the time, so all expressions, characteristics, etc, parallel their individual personalities (at the time that is, can't say the same for now since we've lost touch).
02. Adventure on Planet Venda
Written: Year 7, 1999 (aged 13)
Grade: 99/100
About: Our year 7 English assignment was to create this action-adventure story based on a handful of pre-determined characters and vague chapter plotlines. My teacher had given us specific characters with their individual special powers, but we also had to create the protagonist and make up their own special power. Mine was named Glaze, a Kung Fu/Karate-fighting mortal. Hm.. reading back on it, I thought that was pretty cool :P
03. Peeling The Onion
Written: Year 9, 2001 (aged 15)
Grade: 9/10
About: It was a creative writing task based on the novel "Peeling The Onion" by an author whose name I've forgotten :/ The task was to create a piece focusing on the protagonist's internal thoughts (i.e, portraying his/her thoughts and feelings in brackets).
04. Unheard Melodies
Written: Year 10, 2002 (aged 16)
Grade: 15/15
About: We had to choose a phrase from a list and basically conjure up a story based on that phrase. The actual words of the phrase may or may not be used in the story, and as you'll see in mine, I chose to use it.
05. Cathy Freeman Journal Extract
Written: Year 11, 2003 (aged 17)
Grade: 12/15
About: This was my answer to Section Two of the Advanced English Year 11 exam. The task was to create a single journal extract of an Australian identity that you consider a hero. Or something like that. I remember, under extreme exam conditions, for some reason.. the first person that came to my mind was Cathy Freeman.
06. Journal Entries
Written: Year 11-12, 2003-2004 (aged 17-18)
Grade: 16/20
About: Can't remember much of this task, except we had to create a minimum of three journal entries, describing one's life. I think this was done during my Year 11 or Year 12 Advanced English exam, not sure which.
07. Letter
Written: Year 12, 2004 (aged 18)
Grade: 12/15
About: Section Two of the Advanced English exam, HSC course last year. The task was to compose a letter to a friend, telling them about an item that reminded you of them. In my case, it was a scrapbook. And yes, I did end the letter with the name Jessica Simpson on purpose ! ^.^ Funny, but I probably doubt she'd write such a letter.
